Hannah's Socks • warm feet, warm hearts

Hannah's Socks is a non-profit organization focused on providing clothing necessities to the less fortunate in Toledo, Ohio; Cincinnati, Ohio; and their neighboring communities. Through an annual winter "Socks Drive" as well as emergency "Socks 911" drives, Hannah's Socks collects donated materials in the form of men's, women's and children's socks and undergarments, then leverages partnerships with local shelters for distribution to both the homeless and to victims of domestic violence. Hannah's Socks firmly believes that in a country as prosperous as the United States, no man, woman or child should want for something as basic as a warm pair of socks.

Why don't you accept gently used clothing essentials?

• Collecting only new materials allows Hannah's Socks to use its resources most effectively. Instead of spending time and money laundering, collating and packaging used items, we work on delivering your donated materials to the people who need them as quickly as possible.
• Unlike other clothing articles such as coats, pants, and shirts, new clothing essentials are relatively low-priced and therefore can be purchased in quantity by Hannah's Socks and our supporters.
• The clients at the shelters we serve have fallen on hard times and are looking for help making a new start. A few brand new pairs of socks that are theirs and theirs alone can play a part, however small, in building a sense of pride and self-esteem. How do we know? We see this in the eyes of those we help every day. Who can't relate to the joy of having something new?
• While plenty of outstanding organizations already collect gently used clothing, Hannah's Socks is serving a unique business need in the marketplace by providing our specialized service. Our value proposition is a key differentiator that gives us a great story to tell.
