Hannah's Socks • warm feet, warm hearts

The Hannah's Socks Volunteer of the Month Award is given to a person who best reflects the generous spirit of Hannah Turner by donating those most valuable of gifts — time and energy — in support of the Hannah's Socks cause.

We'd like to congratulate the winner for January 2010, Melissa Britt of Toledo, Ohio.

Melissa's contributions include:

• Encouraging the students, faculty and staff to at Toledo Technical Academy (where she teaches) to conduct a Sock Drive
• Coordinating Sock Drives through her chidrens' two schools, Elmhurst and DeVeaux
• Coordinating a fourth(!) Sock Drive at Zion United Methodist Church
• Speaking to young people at a Children's Sermon to tell Hannah's Story and encourage them to help those in need in their community
