Hannah's Socks • warm feet, warm hearts

The Hannah's Socks Volunteer of the Month Award is given to a person who best reflects the generous spirit of Hannah Turner by donating those most valuable of gifts — time and energy — in support of the Hannah's Socks cause.

We'd like to congratulate the winner for December 2008, Dori P. of Metamora, Ohio.

Dori's contributions include:

• Volunteering twice a month at the Downtown Toledo Library, where Hannah's Socks partners with Food For Thought to hand out socks and other necessities to those in need
• Engaging friends and family to collect more than 500 pairs of socks in just a few weeks
• Working with a friend to launch a Sock Drive at St. Joseph in Sylvania, Ohio
• Inspiring a group of ladies to knit hats and gloves for Hannah's Socks

Dori is an exemplary volunteer who supports Hannah's Socks because she believes in the mission and its positive effect on the community. Way to go, Dori!
