Volunteer Diary: The little things matter in a big way

We were fortunate to have another wonderful Fall morning for distributing socks this past Saturday on the Downtown Toledo Library lawn!

After the socks had all been handed out, I was chatting with a man who was relaxing on one of the wooden benches near the library. He commented, "It doesn’t get any better than this! The sun is shining! The sky is blue! I have a full stomach, and I have some new socks! I am ready for a nice afternoon nap! It doesn't get any better than this!"

Sometimes it is the simple things in life that can make us most satisfied, but often these simple things are the things that we forget to be thankful for. As the Thanksgiving season approaches, remember to be thankful for the simple things in life that make you smile! Happy Thanksgiving!
