Third graders at Prescott Memorial School in Washington, Maine, collect socks for Hannah

Big thanks go out today to third grade teacher Mrs. Kopishke and her students at Prescott Memorial School in Washington, Maine!

They read about Hannah in the November issue of Scholastic News, decided they wanted to have a Sock Drive at their school, and set a goal to collect 75 pairs of socks. The students created a brief speech to read to each of the classes in their school to kick off the Sock Drive. They also showed the video of Hannah's Story from our website and put a decorated collection box and progress chart outside Mrs. K's classroom.

They ended up collecting 147 pairs of socks! They chose two shelters in their area: New Hope for Women in Rockland, Maine, and The Bread of Life Shelter in Augusta, Maine, to which they donated the socks.

Mrs. K told us, "I am so proud of my students for wanting to do this and I am touched that Hannah had the foresight to start this organization! Thanks for all you do!"

Thanks so much to the Prescott students, staff, and community for supporting Hannah's mission.
